ABOUT US
Rooted in Generations of Farming
Strickland Farming is proudly headquartered on Hollingsworth Road in Dobbersville, North Carolina — the same community our family has called home for generations. Garrett Strickland, the 6th generation, grew up here and still lives on the family land. Our farming roots trace back to the mid-1800s, with the Hollingsworth, Odom, Sutton, and Strickland families all working the fields of Dobbersville through the decades.
In 1987, Garrett’s son, Reggie Strickland, came back to farm full time, becoming the 7th generation to carry on the tradition. Most recently, his daughter Savannah Strickland Gentry joined the operation in 2024 after serving three years with the USDA Farm Service Agency. Today, we’re proud to blend time-honored farming values with modern practices, ensuring this legacy continues for generations to come.
Growth Through Livestock Partnerships
Our History in Swine Production
Our journey in swine production began in 1990 with two finishing barns. By 1995, we had purchased a farm and added ten more, bringing us to a total of twelve swine finishing houses. Today, we raise hogs under contract with Prestage Farms, continuing a long-standing partnership that emphasizes animal care and efficiency in pork production.
Our History in Turkey Production
In 2017, we expanded our operation to include six turkey grow-out houses, each housing up to 8,500 birds. Raised under contract with Butterball, our turkeys are managed with care and precision. We also repurpose litter from these houses as a natural fertilizer, enriching our soils and reducing the need for commercial inputs.
